John Mark Reynolds is the founder and former director of the Torrey Honors Institute, and Associate Professor of Philosophy, at Biola University. He has also taught philosophy at Roberts Wesleyan College, Whitworth College and Saint John Fisher College. In 1996 he received his Ph.D. in Philosophy from the University of Rochester, where he wrote a dissertation analyzing the cosmology and psychology found in Plato's Timaeus. His dissertation is currently being printed with the University Press of America. His first book, Maker of Heaven and Earth: Three Views on the Creation and Evolution Debate, was co-authored with J.P. Moreland. Dr. Reynolds' 2009 book, When Athens met Jerusalem: an Introduction to Classical and Christian Thought, has been published by InterVarsity Press. He has written several technical articles in philosophy of religion and several semi-popular articles in journals such as the New Oxford Review and Touchstone. Dr. Reynolds lectures frequently on ancient philosophy, philosophy of science, home-schooling and cultural trends.

John Mark Reynolds, as of June 2012, is the provost at Houston Baptist University.

Dr. Reynolds and his wife Hope have four children: L.D., Mary Kate, Ian and Jane.
