Jessica Rey


Hi! I'm Jessica Rey- I'm a swimsuit designer who can't draw, sew, or swim! Wait... what??? How in the world did that happen? After college, I moved to LA to get my MBA and worked at a television production company as an accountant (a very exciting job if you love excel spreadsheets and calculators). A talent manager suggested I try acting and, though I thought she was crazy, I gave it a try. I ended up booking my first few commercial auditions and found that I really enjoyed it. After about a year, I decided to find a television/film agent. No one would sign me because... well...I had no experience except for commercials and had never taken an acting class. I ended up finding a tiny agency that agreed to take me on and booked my first television audition as the White Power Ranger on Disney's Power Rangers Wild Force. It was pretty much the best job I had ever had- I mean, who doesn't want to be a superhero everyday? I also have my own action figure (don't be jealous). I continued acting after that and landed more guest starring and recurring roles on tv.My daily “uniform” was a bikini because hanging out at the pool between auditions and jobs became my life. One day, after much contemplation and research, I decided I was done with bikinis (watch my talk 'The Evolution of the Swimsuit' for a tiny glimpse of the 'why' behind this decision, but many factors lead to this- more than can be explained in a 9 minute video.
