Thank you so much, Dr. DeWeese, for this really great introduction to meta-ethics! 25 minutes and you lay out, clearly and succinctly, the basic framework of ethical theory...what an excellent resource.

I was concerned, though, about what you say at minute 08:10-21. Wouldn't being "creeped out" by a theory be a kind of boo-horrah emotivism? (I like what you say, though, about the problem of defining a culture and how relativism would boil down to an unstable individual morality ultimately futile in any kind of interpersonal, intercultural, international, or intergenerational ethical problem-solving. Even within "me", one would have difficulty resolving intrapsychical conflicts between parts of the soul!)

Anyway, thank you very much for a thoroughly interesting and helpful introduction to the topic; and thank you to the website organisers for creating a easily-navigable interface. I look forward to watching more of these lectures over my tea. : )
