Shannon is a best-selling author, speaker, and lay counselor. She advocates for healthy sexuality and has a Master's degree in counseling/human relations from Liberty University. She has spoken to youth, college students, and adults since 1989 and her passion is in challenging the body of Christ to embrace a life of sexual integrity.
Out of college, Shannon first worked as a mortician. Many of the people she embalmed were young and had died from AIDS or committed suicide as a result of an HIV positive diagnosis. Because of her own promiscuous teenage years, she knew that it was only by the grace of God that she was standing over the embalming table rather than laying on top of it.
God used these experiences to usher her into youth ministry, and later into Teen Mania Ministries where she has taught and counseled college age women since 1999. She is the author of 17 books, including the best-selling Every Woman's Battle series for females of all ages, as well as the newly-released, Completely His: Loving Jesus Without Limits, book and devotional series. Her books have been reprinted in multiple languages, offering hope to women all around the world.
Shannon has been interviewed on national radio & television shows such as Focus on the Family, The 700 Club, FamilyLife Today and New Life Live! with Stephen Arterburn. Shannon was also featured on the cover of Today's Christian Woman Magazine and is the winner of a Gold Medallion Award for Excellence in Publishing. She and her family reside in a log cabin in the forests of east Texas.
