Nancy Wang Yuen (Ph.D. UCLA, 2008) is a Sociologist, Documentary Producer and pop-culture geek. Writing about race and ethnicity in media, Dr. Yuen has been published widely in the field. Her current book, Reel Inequality: Hollywood Actors and Racism, examines the barriers actors of color face in Hollywood and how they creatively challenge stereotypes. As an Associate Professor in the Sociology department at Biola, Dr. Yuen teaches classes on race and gender in popular culture, Asian American studies, visual sociology and research methods.
